| Om Xposeptember XPOSEPTEMBER är ett projekt som initierades av föreningen Stockholms Fotofestival. Sedan 1998 är Xposeptember ett evenemang för fotografisk bild i alla dess former - stillbild och rörlig bild - som hålls vartannat år i Stockholm. Under de tio år som gått sedan starten har Xposeptember varit en plattform som samlar olika aktörer till en diskussion kring fotografisk bild och samtida visuell kultur. 2008 återkommer Xposeptember i ny mer koncentrerad form. Vi har denna gång valt att samarbeta med ett mindre antal institutioner: Cinemateket, Iaspis, Index - The Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation, Rumänska kulturinstitutet och wip:konsthall. Utställningarna och programmet, som ska ses som en helhet snarare än enskilda delar, har sammanställts av en arbetsgrupp från Xposeptembers styrelse bestående av Petra Bauer, Kim Einarsson och Helena Holmberg. Med utgångspunkt i ett urval samtida och äldre verk, och med filmessän som historisk referens är årets evenemang som presenteras under titeln "Between the Images" en studie kring bilden som förhandling i dag. "Between the Images" kommer att följas upp med en publikation. About Xposeptember XPOSEPTEMBER is a project initiated by the association Stockholm Fotofestival. Since 1998 Xposeptember is an event for photographic image in all forms, still image as well as moving image, taking place in Stockholm every other year. During the ten years of existence, Xposeptember has been a platform where different actors within the photographic field can join together for a discussion about photographic image and contemporary visual culture. In 2008, Xposeptember is presented in a new, more concentrated format. For this year's event, we have chosen to collaborate with a limited circle of institutions: Cinemateket (The Swedish Film Institute), Iaspis, Index - The Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation, Romanian Culture Institute and wip:konsthall. All exhibitions and programmes, which should be seen as one project rather than as separate parts, has been put together by a curatorial team from the Xposeptember board; Petra Bauer, Kim Einarsson and Helena Holmberg. With the starting point in a selection of contemporary as well as older works and with the film essay as a historical reference, this year's event, presented under the title "Between the Images", is a study of the image as negotiation today. In addition to the activities during October - December 2008, "Between the Images", will be followed by a publication. |
